The Self-Selected Choral Community at

Plainview-Old Bethpage J.F.K. High School

Long Island, New York

Adam Paltrowitz, director of vocal & choral studies

Adam Paltrowitz firmly believes that the core of every high school choral program should be comprised of self-selected choral ensembles.  This means every student who is interested in singing is encouraged to join, and the strongest singers are not removed from the ensemble.  When students of all ability levels work together, the message transcends music and becomes more of a loving, open, accepting community.

The Treble Choir - self-selected ensemble consisting of 9th-10th grade women

The Mixed Choir - self-selected ensemble consisting of 11th-12th grade women and 9th-12th grade men.
